Imagineer’s engagement programme, Transformations returns in November 2024 with two brand new specialisms hosted by our partners, Media Mania and Autin Dance Theatre.
Are you interested in Aerial Performance and hoping for a career that would make use of that skill? If you’re aged 18-35 and not currently in employment, training or education, then this opportunity is for YOU!
Over the course of November, you’ll be exploring aerial performance through practical workshops with our experts. You’ll have a real creative brief and get real work experience to add to your portfolio, as both specialisms work collaboratively on a performance piece, to be showcased during our winter takeover event, ‘Lighting up the Powerhouse’.
We are actively seeking those who experience barriers to access or develop within the arts and creative industries. We celebrate diversity and equality in our programming, participants, delivery and recruitment.
Specialism 2: Aerial Performance with Autin Dance Theatre
Goal: Across six sessions led by Autin Dance Theatre in the final two weeks of November, participants will work to create a visually striking performance, responding to the music, using storytelling and performance techniques to embody the theme of event. Working with the team, partners and other participants to create something exciting, experimental and unexpected to convey the theme of light, choreographed to the sound design piece of music.
The Takeover Event: Lighting up the Powerhouse
Let there be light! On Wed 4 Dec, Transformations will host ‘Lighting up the Powerhouse’, a takeover of Daimler Powerhouse, opening the space to Coventry’s youth communities. Young, diverse creatives will activate the building through assorted music, visuals, performances and immersive activities. The immersive event takes ‘light’ as its theme – as both a nod to Christmas and the act of illuminating the talents of local young people. We’re symbolically and physically ‘Lighting up the Powerhouse’ and reflecting the creativity and energy of Coventry’s young community.

- 2 Dec 2024 (takeover rehearsal day)
- 4 Dec 6.30pm-9.30pm (takeover event)
