Imagineer awarded £440,000 to continue its Transformations programme, giving creative opportunities to young people

Imagineer has been awarded £440,000 investment from the National Lottery Community Fund, enabling them to extend their Transformations programme to more young people in Coventry and now, for the first time, Nuneaton and Bedworth.

Transformations is a programme for young people aged 16-29 in which they work with Imagineer on real-life creative projects. They meet professional artists, engineers, sound and lighting designers and creative industry specialists, and as they work, they gain insight into all aspects of the creation of outdoor and site-specific events and festivals.

There’s also the opportunity to develop meaningful skills in production, performance and construction.

Many young people who have completed Transformations have gone on to gain entrance into University, further training, apprenticeships or developed the confidence to pursue other career and life goals.

Jane Hytch, Director of Imagineer, commented “We’re really grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for recognising the brilliant work of our Transformations participants, and the genuine difference it makes to the lives and aspirations of young people in Coventry. This investment will allow more young people in Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth to get involved with the creative industries. We can’t wait to get started!”
