We are recruiting! The Daimler Powerhouse Transformations programme supports the creative development of young people aged 18-29. We’re recruiting now for Transformations participants up to summer 2024.
Are you:
- Aged 18-29
- Not employed or training
- Living in Coventry
- Interested in creative careers in music, sound, lighting, performance, outdoor arts, making, craft, fashion, construction
- Keen to build new friendships, boost your confidence and learn new skills
If so then Transformations could be for you! Come and join us for regular weekly sessions at the Daimler Powerhouse, starting this September and continuing to summer 2024.

Here’s what’s happening in Transformations this autumn:
Monday Art Group
Mondays, 5.30-8pm
A weekly evening art group to create work themed around a set brief, with the occasional challenge for skill development, or you can use the space to work on your own personal project, supported by professional artists.
Arts Collective
Tuesdays,10am-1pm
A smaller group for more independent artists who wish to use the space to hone their skills, occasionally working on briefs to create products and sell artwork.
Resonate
Tuesdays, 6-8pm
A weekly evening music-focused session where you can learn new instruments and participate in ‘jam’ sessions with support from professional musicians from Media Mania.
Job Club
Wednesdays, 1-3pm
A weekly group which helps to improve CVs and hunt for jobs, as well as generally improving employability and other skills.
Robotics
Wednesday 5-6.30pm
Weekly workshops ran by Arup to learn new skills such as 3D modelling and other computer aided design tools, to design and 3D print your own fighting robots!
Film Workshop
Thursday 9 November, 10am-2pm ** EVENT POSTPONED – new date will be announced shortly **
Making great videos on your mobile phones – a step-by-step guide to creating exciting content for your social media platforms, led by Media Mania and Ebony Ademola.
Drama & performance workshop
Thursdays 16, 23 & 30 November, 10am-12pm
Drama and performance workshops by Open Theatre, suitable for beginners and more experienced performers.
Steward Training Course
Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 November, 10am-2pm
Join experts from the Godiva Festival and Imagineer for training in event hosting and stewarding, leading to paid work, this could lead to more formal and accredited training depending on local interest.
Making Events Happen
Thursday 7 December, 10am-2pm
Achieve your creative potential! Join Media Mania and Imagineer to learn about event management, producing, marketing, performing, creating and producing content, building towards The Powerhouse Youth Zone event at the Godiva Festival 2024.
